Arched windows were all the rage back in the 2000’s and can still add to the right house. Most Flathead Valley residents that contact Precision Glass with arched windows are wanting them removed and squared off. The benefits of squaring the tops of arched windows are that you; one, you can have a larger window, two, it’s a more modern look, and three, you can have window treatments installed!

 

Our vote with the above window is to square off the top and drop the window top away from the ceiling so a full trim board fits above the window with a gap. This would clean up and modernize the overall look, allow the homeowner to install window treatments so the early morning summer sun we get in the Flathead Valley doesn’t wake them up too early, and still gain window glass area for when the window blinds are up.
